Instructions for taking a video selfie together with your Kenya National ID

Lighting

Headgear
Remove any caps, hats, sunglasses, spectacles, masks, burqas, or other head coverings.

Holding the ID
Hold your ID at the edges with your fingertips to avoid covering any information.

Clarity: Ensure all printed information on the ID together with your face are visible If you can't see the text or images on the ID or your face is not visible most likely a machine won't recognise

Solo Video
Make sure no one else is in the video

on your smart kiosk > whatsapp chat (at the bottom) , select the camera icon, select video (change the mode to selfie mode)..then start the video. With one hand display the front section of your ID and in the other the phone so that we can view both

Verification Process verification is automated; if unsuccessful, a human will review (may take up to 24 hours)
